There is growing concern that we'll see a critical shortage of adequately trained and competent skilled workers. As the baby boom generation continues to retire and leave the workforce, a lack of qualified candidates to step into vacant trade positions could severely impact economic growth. Several theories have been offered to explain the 'skilled trades gap.' Some include a mismatch between employee skills and employer needs, stagnant wages, specific technical requirements, a lack of employer-sponsored on-the-job training and apprenticeship programs, and declining interest in skilled trades careers among graduating students.
Parents and voters – Republican and Democrat alike – strongly support skilled trades education – even if it means more local and federal government spending. An overwhelming portion of voters sees increased funding for High Schools as beneficial for nearly every student, especially low-income students. Please continue to urge your schools and representatives to advocate for this industry.
As an employer, we understand the need for involvement and real-world skills training. We offer an apprenticeship program where an employee engages in hands-on work experience by day and gains accreditation by night, by enrolling in a technical school. This path offers the quickest way to hands-on success and licensing.

Every year, approximately 200,000 men and women leave U.S. military service and return to life as civilians. The transition from military to civilian life is widely recognized as a challenging and stressful process for service members, veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors. However, military experience is a perfect fit for the trades with a declining workforce.
We are committed to helping this largely untapped resource to close the job skills gap. Many military personnel have traditional qualities such as reliability, punctuality, and tremendous work ethic. Many veterans obtain skills during their service that directly translate to various in-demand roles within the skilled trades industry. There are sites such as Hirepurpose.com or VetJobs.com and organizations such as the VA and American legion, but it has been noted the answer may lie within “who you know”. If you know of a qualified veteran looking to begin a rewarding civilian career – send them our way, we'd like to serve in their success!
